South & South East in Bloom Competition Results

We are delighted to announce that Horley Town Council has again won two prestigious awards at this year’s South & South East in Bloom Awards Ceremony, which was held at the AMEX Stadium, Brighton.  We were very pleased to receive a Silver Gilt Award for the Town Centre for the fifth year and, for the sixth year running, a Silver Gilt Award was also won for Horley Recreation Ground.  The judges said that “the overall presentation continues to improve and everyone in Horley is working hard to maintain a high standard.  The hanging baskets and planters were outstanding and the wild flowers in Church Meadows looked amazing!”.

Cllr Richard Olliver, Chairman & Town Mayor, accompanied by Vice-Chairman, Cllr Mike George, received the awards at the ceremony, and both were delighted that Horley’s results continue to improve.

Cafe in the Park

The Town Council is evaluating the need for a cafe in the Horley Recreation Park.  It is early days, but an architect has been appointed to conduct a feasibility study, following requests we received for such a project from parents with toddlers, park users, dog walkers etc.  If you have any views on the matter, please let us know what you think - a fuller survey will be conducted once we have further information.  Thank you!
