RFL Disability Access Audit Programme to Start

RFL logo

Late last year RFL Equality and Diversity Manager Sarah Williams met with Level Playing Field (LPF) to discuss a comprehensive programme to improve the accessibility of their stadia. As a result of these discussions the RFL Facilities Trust agreed to fund a disability access audit of all Championship and Championship 1 clubs. All clubs will undertake a facilities audit, a match day audit and will receive a comprehensive report highlighting areas of good practice as well as improvements required. In addition all the clubs undertaking an access audit will also be able to benefit from disability awareness training.

Gary Deards, LPF Vice Chair said 'LPF is delighted to be working with the RFL on this groundbreaking project and we are pleased to be presenting an LPF special recognition award to the RFL for being the first sport’s governing body to commission an access audit award of all their Championship Stadia.'
