'Total Football - Total Access'

CAFE is supported by the UEFA and is working closely with its 53 associations to improve access in European football stadia.

CAFE launches new website

CAFE is delighted to announce the launch of our brand new website.

The CAFE website is available in ten different European languages, and has had a complete redesign to make it much easier to use and navigate – as well as a fresh new look.

Please do have a look at the individual stadium pages, which can now be browsed either by country or by competition. Some of these pages are still being populated; however they provide a lot of information about travelling to a stadium as a disabled supporter, and the facilities and services that will be available. Social networks now have their own integrated presence on the site, and the news stories most relevant to you can be promoted to the front page.

There is also a dedicated area devoted to Access for All – the UEFA and CAFE Good Practice Guide to Creating an Accessible Stadium and Matchday Experience.

CAFE would love to hear your feedback on the new website – please feel free to email info@cafefootball.eu, or leave a comment via Facebook or Twitter.

The site may be new but the link remains the same - please visit www.cafefootball.eu.

Access for All available in 13 languages

'Access for All' - The UEFA and CAFE Good Practice Guide to Creating an Accessible Stadium and Matchday Experience - is now available via the CAFE website in Romanian, taking the total number of language versions to 13.

The aim of the guide is to provide a benchmark of good practice for both new and existing stadiums, offering practical, clear solutions that will help football clubs, national associations and stadium managers to deliver high-quality grounds with facilities and services that are accessible, inclusive and welcoming for all.

'Access for All' is available in English, French, Russian, German, Turkish, Spanish, Italian, Polish, Dutch, Portuguese, Serbian, Croatian and Romanian, as well as an accessible version in English. To view the guide, please click here.

CAFE legacy project in Poland and Ukraine

CAFE Week of Action

CAFE delivered a disability awareness project around UEFA EURO 2012 in Poland and Ukraine. Although the tournament has come and gone, CAFE retains a strong presence in the territory and is carrying out a project in legacy of UEFA EURO 2012.

This coming weekend sees the launch of the CAFE Week of Action - Total Football, Total Access - in Poland and Ukraine. Fans, clubs and governing bodies have been invited to take part in the campaign, and we have been overwhelmed by the amount of interested parties.

In Poland, the campaign has the full backing of PZPN - the Polish Football Association - and they will be publishing information through all of their communication channels. The campaign also has the official support of the Polish First League, and all clubs have been provided with information about CAFE to share on their websites. Ekstraklasa - the Polish top flight - has given its full support of the Week of Action and all of the clubs have been provided with information. Orange Sport TV will also be publicising the Week of Action.

GKS Katowice has officially supported the Week of Action. A CAFE banner will be presented on the pitch by both footballers and disabled fans during the half time break. CAFE banners will also be displayed at matches involving Lechia Gdansk, Slask Wroclaw and Jagiellonia Bialystok, with Flota Swinoujscie and Cracovia FC also adding their support. The national stadium in Warsaw have implemented an audio descriptive commentary service as part of the campaign, and displayed CAFE banners for the launch of this.

In Ukraine, on the weekend of the 20/21 April, a pre-match ceremony with players and mascots wearing t-shirts and carrying CAFE banners will take place at Arsenal Kiev, Shakhtar Donetsk, Zarya Lugansk, Metalurg Donetsk, Kryvbas Kryvy Ryh, Tavriya Simferopol, Chernomorets Odessa, Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk, Volyn Lutsk, Illichivets Mariupol, Vorskla Poltava,  Metalist Kharkiv, Goverla Uzhgorod, Metalurg Zaporizhya, Karpaty Lviv and  Dynamo Kiev. A short film entitled ‘Total Football, Total Access’ will also be shown on the big screens at Zarya Lugansk, Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk and Metalist Kharkiv.

Metalist Kharkiv and Karpaty Lviv have both implemented audio descriptive commentary services for blind and partially sighted supporters, and additional events for disabled supporters will be held by a number of club, including Volyn, Vorskla, Chernomorets Odessa, Shakhtar Donetsk and both Metalist and Karpaty.

Eight of the Premier League matches in Ukraine will be televised this weekend, and will feature the pitchside activities promoting the CAFE Week of Action - Total Football, Total Access - live on Ukrainian television.

The Week of Action has received great support across Poland and Ukraine, and is sure to be a huge success.

Could you be a CAFE roving reporter?

Do you regularly attend football matches either as or with a disabled supporter?

We are looking to add to our group of roving reporters, publishing your accounts of attending football matches across Europe. It isn't a huge commitment, and your reports could prove to be really helpful for other disabled supporters who will be attending those stadiums in the future.

If you would like more information about becoming a CAFE roving reporter, please feel free to email us at info@cafefootball.eu.

We also continue to ask for your stadium comments, which can be uploaded via the CAFE Stadia Reports website. Adding a comment is really easy to do, just select the country and club or stadium from the menus, and you can also attach any photographs that you have taken. If a stadium currently doesn't have a page set up, please email us at info@cafefootball.eu.

Club CAFE Network continues to grow

At our September 2011 conference we launched the CLUB CAFE network. CLUB CAFE exists to bring like-minded people together to work towards our goal of Total Football, Total Access.

Since the conference, the network has expanded considerably. People from all across Europe have added their voice to our cause. The more people speak up, the more our voices are heard.
