Tiger Who Came to Tea - A Reading with Makaton Saturday 7th March 2020 from 11am-11.30am at Waterstones Telford Join one of Waterstones booksellers and a Makaton Tutor on Saturday 7th March 2020 at 11am for a special reading of The Tiger Who Came To Tea with Makaton. Shining Stars Shining Stars is a voluntary parent led play group for children (under 5 years old) with additional needs. It's a place for parents to get support, advice and to meet others in similar situations. It is run by two volunteer parents that have children with additional needs so have lots of experience and knowledge and an understanding of the isolation and the issues and concerns that parents may feel. They are, Tina who has a 8 year old son with complex medical needs, autism, global developmental delay and other issues and Karen has a 7 year old daughter with Down's Syndrome. The group has many sensory toys including fibre optic lights, bubble tube, role play, a ball pit, as well as many other indoor and outdoor toys. Weekly activities include painting, messy play and paper crafts. Makaton is also used. Calm Cafe If you are looking for emotional or mental health support in the evening, there are Calm Cafe's located in The Hub on the Hill Cafe, Meeting Point House Cafe and Madeley Wellbeing Cafe. Social Care Workshop A Social Care Workshop is on Tuesday 3rd March from 10am-12pm at Meeting Point House and Friday 6th March 10am-12pm at Darby House. For families accessing social care support, you are invited to share your views regarding Preparing for Adulthood pathways. Please get in touch for information about this or to book a place. Thank you. Autism West Midlands 11th Shropshire Autism Conference Autism West Midlands 11th Shropshire Conference - Autism and Anxiety is on Thursday 26th March from 10am-2.30pm. You will hear from expert speakers, share ideas and chat with others who have similar experiences. Their keynote speaker this year is Corey Wood who will talk about his autistic journey and anxiety; his difficult years in school, learning how to manage his anxiety and success in his chosen career. Great Dawley Town Council - Free Inclusive Disco The FREE Fab Friday Inclusive Disco is back on Friday 6th March 2020 from 7pm-9.30pm. The Apprenticeship Employment & Skills Show The Apprenticeship Show will open up a little bit earlier for our young people, at 11.30am this is to allow for a quieter time to talk to people exhibiting there. Also remember about the 'education' focus group earlier in the day too. Jungleland SEN Session Jungleland's next FREE SEN session is on tonight from 6pm-8pm. Last admissions at 7pm, the session includes a ride on the Jungleland Express Train. Don't forget if you have a Max Card the admission price is £1.99.
