Forum News Update From Jayne Stevens - Strategic Co-ordinator

Morning! Hope everyone had a good half term break - there seemed to be all sorts of activities going on - lots of fun and I hope that you managed to join in with some of it and didn't get caught out by any flooding, that's returned today with a vengeance! We have a closed college campus so an unexpected day off (and already winding up the whole house) so I'll be working from home today until my meeting this afternoon. I must remember to also buy pancake day supplies ready for tomorrow's family group at Park Lane Centre - are you joining us?

Last week's update - a webinar (they take some getting used to, but I find them really useful as a learning tool and able to replay them at a later date to check back and reminders) - it was about "mental health in the workplace", but I'm using it to consider how we work with our volunteers too - looking after each other is important isn't it - being aware of what support is available and being ale to talk openly and confidentiality about the 'other' stuff that might be bothering us. Lin (Befriender team lead and I spent a morning looking and learning together at a programme with Widgit symbols to make routine charts for a family which will be used on a trial basis, and then a few days developing the befriender training ready for the course starting in a couple of weeks. Inbetween I've been collating some information for the newsletter and also writing a presentation for our JSNA presentation on Wednesday - sharing families experiences from responses from annual survey, CAMHS/BeeU, social care and education - so back to that now and catch up with you later on today!

Best Regards
Jayne Stevens (Strategic Co-ordinator)
