Weekly Update from Jayne Stevens (Participation Co-ordinator)...

No long 'minblog' from me this morning as I've had a week of annual leave (in theory). But hey, for us parents we're never on 'holiday' or 'away from it all' - it's just a bit different. Some children and young people thrive with thought of not having to go to school, where some need a really rigid routine and lack of structure is more difficult. I see lots of families through our links on facebook and there are some great memories and stories that have been shared and no doubt will continue to be shared but please remember these are 'snapshots' of time - a happy photo might well only show a happy few seconds and represents the amount of hard work it's took to get someone out of that door, or the months and months of planning and de-sensitizing or co-ercing (all that behind the scenes stuff that no-one gets to know about. but really we know as parent carer community is important).

Some of us are getting into the back to school mode and I thought this link might be useful for some of you and may with tips that may help in supporting your child or young person getting ready for 'back to school' mode. If anyone has any other links they'd like to share please do so. https://youngminds.org.uk/blog/what-to-do-if-your-child-is-anxious-about-going-back-to-school/
