Mark Taylor Support Ltd is Excited to Announce a Brand New Piece of Work – The Life Skills Project.

The Life Skills Project sessions will run on a Monday between 9am and 3pm and will be based at the Hollinswood Community Centre, 7 Downmead, Telford TF3 2EW

The initial ‘Introduction to Life Skills’ programme will be running across a 14 week term from Monday 17 September to Monday 17 December 2018.

There are 8 user places available on the initial programme, which is open to users 16 years and over.

The project will be led by the Project Manager – Jodie Sands and supported by a minimum of 2 support assistants, thus meaning the project will be working within a ratio of 1 member of staff to 3 service users. The project will provide a progression pathway from the Introduction to Life Skills programme via a range of user led choice programmes.

Support costs from £62 per day based on users accessing a full-term programme. This cost is inclusive of all programme content, activities and lunch.

1:1/2:1 support and transport support will be available on request, with additional charges applicable.

Independent Report - Residential Special Schools and Colleges: Support for Children

We were involved in the review and experiences of children and young people in residential schools and colleges* that led to a report from Christine Lenehan (Council for Disabled Children). *The report actually considered wider matters including specialist and alternative provision and home schooling. This report has now been replied to by the Secretary for State (see below) for report and responses from Government. This demonstrates the power of the parent carer voice and our voices from Telford were included too. Thank you again to everyone.
