Weekly Update from Jayne Stevens (Participation Co-ordinator)...

Hello! Hope everyone has had a lovely weekend. Great to see so many of you at the Pamper Event on Friday - a great venue too and much thanks to Val and Alice for organising it all :) This last week we've had a meeting at The Bridge school and discussed experiences that families have told us about and a chat about the Challenging Behaviour Foundation training, we visited a respite/adult social care provision in Wolverhampton that's given us ideas for discussions with FairHome and Litttle Rascals at their workshop on Wednesday (Who's coming?), A great team meeting with parent reps on Tuesday and I've since followed up and requested a mini workshop for families who attended the ones in Jan/Feb (seems ages ago now doesn't it!), The newsletter prep is well under way and the events team met to discuss Summer plans and Picnic in the Park. We've met with Child Dev Centre colleagues and have input regarding the updated health report and will also be taking this to Shining Stars group this week for feedback. Our evening family group was very quiet on Thursday - we put an evening group in at request of families but if no response or anyone attending we will have to start considering whether they are effective - if this is something you still want to continue please let us know...I finished my week off at the Mentoring and Coaching course and obviously a bit of a pamper with henna and a makeover ;)

This week starts off with a full day training for First Aid (keeping you safe at events!) and then an EHCP workshop in Birmingham tomorrow - always good to know the law so we can discuss with knowledge at the Task and Finish groups and of course it will probably be useful for me personally on Thursday when we have our son's Annual Review meeting at college (reminds me I must get read the Ed Pscyh report that we received in the post last week!)...
