Good evening,

It always feels different once Easter’s over and we’ve moved into April. The weather’s (supposedly) improving and we’re a third of the way through the year.

I’m not sure if that statement makes me feel happy or full of panic, but either way there’s lots going on this month.

We’re delighted to be running a new Ask the Expert webinar bi-weekly, with various ‘expert’ speakers who are on hand to answer all your questions. The first one is tomorrow at 11am and you’ll need to register, so read on to find out how.

We’d love you to stay…
As I’m sure you all know, GDPR is coming next month. That means that we need your permission so you can keep on receiving great content from us here at Private Practice Hub. Please click here to confirm that we can still contact you. You still have the option to unsubscribe at any time.

New Partnership with ACTO and Orcha
We’re so pleased to announce a new partnership with ACTO and Orcha. We’re running a webinar with Liz Ashall-Payne and Simon Leigh from ACTO and Orcha where they will discuss and assess a range of mental health and health apps for use with your clients. These apps are across three broad strands:
- data security
clinical effectiveness
- user experience.
These apps can be used as part of or as a support to the therapy process. Mental health apps are the fastest growing area of healthcare apps and Orcha evidence shows that 61% of clients are more likely to use an app if it is recommended by a therapist.  As a result, it’s important for us to be aware of the best apps. The webinar is on April 20 at 2pm and registration details will follow shortly. In case you missed it, see Simon Leigh here on the One Show on 5 April.

Check out our latest blogs
We’ve had some excellent blogs written recently by some guest bloggers and they offer some excellent insights for you on very different topics.

The first, written by Dr Mark Silvert founder of The Blue Tree Clinic, is on the things no one tells you when you go into private practice. It’s a fascinating look at all the little things that may not occur to you before you take that first leap into running your own practice.

Hayley Netser from Holistic Health Lab has written a great article on the benefits of networking. Networking is one of those things that you either love or hate, but Hayley can hopefully persuade you that networking should form part of your business plan.

And finally, David Jacobs from Lewis-Barned has given some insight into the benefits of using a virtual team on your website. Working remotely is now so easy and using freelancers is often more cost effective and flexible than other options, so read on to find out more.

What would happen to your practice in an emergency?
Have you ever thought what you would do in an emergency? Or how you would inform your clients if you are too ill to work? The Counselling & Psychotherapy Centre have recently launched their Crisis Plan & Professional Will Service and in the event of an emergency, crisis or serious illness they can be your nominated service to contact your clients to let them know the situation. Click here for more information or to buy the plan.

Kind regards,
Geoff Simons
