Update from the SEN Workshop (Held on 31st January)

A HUGE thank you to all of the parents and carers that attended the SEN workshop on 31st January 2018 it was great to meet you all and have feedback from an SEN support perspective. As promised we have loaded all of the workshop information onto the Local Offer for you to access at any time and to download if required. The information can be accessed here http://www.telfordsend.org.uk/localofferservices/info/1/home/69/sen_support

The tricky issues board that was added to throughout the session is currently being created into an FAQ’s page that we will load onto the Local Offer as soon as we have answered them. We hope that we will be able to run more workshops with parents and carers and will work with POD’s and IASS together to make these happen, if you want to be involved in these discussions please contact POD’s and IASS for information on how you can support.

Many thanks again

Natalie, Simon, POD’s and IASS

****Places Still Available**** CAMHS Workshop (0-25yrs) - Have your Say - Learning Disability as primary need + associated conditions on Wednesday 14th February 2018

This workshop is open to parent carers and practitioners from a range of services who support children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. It will provide an opportunity to hear about the work done to date, the challenges to be overcome and to jointly develop an effective service. This workshop will cover Learning Disability Pathway - young people using this pathway will have a learning disability as their primary need, but may also have other associated conditions such as ASC, ADHD and medical needs. They may be referred to the service due to behaviour that challenges or other mental health issues

Weekly Update from Jayne Stevens (Participation Co-ordinator)...

It's Friday already! How did that happen? Well we've had a really busy family group at Admaston as always and great to see new members joining us. There's been two sessions at the 'hub' (Tuesday morning and Thursday afternoon), a catch up with CVS Chief Executive Officer - we've been talking about carers assessments, IASS contract and tips on recruiting trustees so watch this space for adverts coming soon. Key members of team have undertaken social media training to ensure we're up to date as possible - a new closed group will be set up to run alongside this open page. There have been two lots of conversations re short breaks - one around the 'transfer' of Ican2 into My Options and the other around Little Rascals offers and wider reach into Telford. Heading into next week I'll be back in CAMHS mode (including a personal appt for our son!) and working with my Parent Reps at our meeting on Tuesday!
