9.30am-11.45am - Managing Challenging Behaviour including de-escalation techniques for older children and teenagers 12 years +
It's not easy to manage behaviour when children rise quickly and want to demonstrate how they feel with physical behaviour.  This course looks at how to use de-escalation techniques for older children and teenagers to bring emotions down to the stage where young people are able to communicate and articulate their difficulties.  *Note we DO NOT cover restraint procedures in this training.  We can adapt this training to meet your own requirements.

12.15pm-2.30pm - Supporting children to deal with social situations they find difficult.
Some children and young people find it hard to share, take turns, line up, keep to their own personal space or talk without interrupting.
This workshop looks at how we can support children who find social interaction hard. We provide ideas, techniques and coping strategies to help children manage situations they find difficult.  We will share with you lots of ideas and tools that you can take back and use to help children cope and learn to be better in social situations and support them to build social relationships and make friends.
Suitable for  children 5-12 years who find social situations hard
*Kit available Social Skills Bingo
