Annual Survey

Our Annual survey helps us to develop our priorities for the coming year and also ensures that we are meeting the needs of our families locally.  The survey covers the full remit of our charity's work including the PODS Parent Carer Forum and the Face 2 Face Scheme.  Please let us know your thoughts on our work and also your thoughts about local services so that we know where to focus in the coming months. Thank you.

Volunteers Week & Pamper Event

We are at the end of 'volunteers' week and we'd like to continue to express our thanks for all the work our volunteers do by inviting you to Afternoon Tea on 18th July 12noon-2pm.  A venue still needs to be decided but if you have any ideas in the meantime please let us know. We'd like to invite anyone who has done any work in a voluntary capacity - presently or in the past - trustees, committee, parent reps, Face 2 Face befrienders, fundraisers, etc.

We also wish to thank all of our registered parent carers for their continued input and support into the work we do and for this we invite you to a pamper event which will take place next Friday 16th June 6.30-10pm - click on the flyer below for more information.  If you know anyone not registered with us and they wish to attend please pass the details over to them too.

Applicants sought for MA Study - Early Childhood and Diagnosis

"Hi, my name is Sue Mustill and I’m doing some research about how it feels to have a child that has been identified with a special educational need or disability (SEND). Many years ago I had a child like this and my experience was pretty negative. I want to find out if things have changed, about your feelings at the time of identification and whether the experience can be improved for families. I am also going to ask professionals involved how they feel.

Some of you may have had your child’s needs identified before, or very soon after, birth but many of you may have had to wait some time before you found out, I want to see if this made a difference to how you felt. This research forms part of an education MA that I am studying and will help me and my team in the work that we do at a Child Development Centre.  This could help other families in the future who are going through a similar experience.

There are three parts to the research and you can take part in as many as you choose:

·         A one page survey  - this will take no more than 10 minutes

·         A recorded confidential interview – this will take no more than 30 minutes

·         A focus group with other parents/carers – this will take no more than two hours

If you are interested in taking part please could you email me: morrissette99@hotmail.co.uk with your contact details and I will send you a participants information sheet that will explain all you need to know about the research and how to take part"
