PARENT CARER FORUM UPDATE

Good Morning and Hello!  My first question to you as parent carers (and professionals who read these updates?) - have you been to see the film "I swear" - if not, it's definitely worth a watch, to help with some understanding of Tics and Tourettes and the world a young person and an adult lives in.  We laughed and cried at this last night and it's given us so much more awareness.  Of course you will know that we have a Parent Rep with this as a specific area of interest, and we're now attending Tics and Tourettes task and finish groups which will also link up to the wider CAMHS work we're involved in.  On the subject of CAMHS (BeeU) I've continued to gather feedback about the Autism and ADHD pathways - another workshop and some 1:1's with parent carers last week.  Last week saw reps and staff attending the PEGS Child to Adult abuse conference - so much learning from this, and more collaborative work coming up.  I also attended, with another staff member a Hate Crime conference on Friday - very enlightening and to find out that there is free training and workshops available - great stuff - will be getting those arranged very soon! We hosted the Short Breaks Forum this week - this is led by Telford & Wrekin Council of course, and brings together commissioners and service leads to update families on the work happening to support the targetted and specialist support offers.  Please keep an eye out for the Short Breaks Forum notes and activities list that we will share with you.

Our PINS school visits continue with local schools and it's always great to be invited into previous schools, who see the benefit of our work.

This upcoming week, a bit more work on the Autism/ADHD project,  some joint commissioning work (looking at where there are gaps in services and how these can be filled), an event for Future Focus transition this afternoon in Wellington, more BeeU 1:1 sessions (these are fully booked again) and then an invite to Headteachers leadership conference midweek and onto a PINS workshop for 'Relational/Behaviour Policy' that also includes visitors from Dept for Education and NHS England teams!

As we head into half term at the end of the week there's plenty of activities so if you're at any of those, you might bump into me - in the meantime, you can reach me and have a chat about any services, ask any questions using my contact details below:
