To book your place, please click on the links below: SEND Award - NHS Extract: "Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin (STW) gained well-deserved national recognition for its work within the Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) arena at the first ever NHS England SEND Best Practice Conference held last month, on Tuesday 12 March. The national conference brought SEND leaders, children and young people, and parent carers together to celebrate teamwork and partnership working in SEND. The day honoured individuals and systems who contribute to inclusive cultures and positive outcomes for people with SEND. Two of the county’s SEND projects were shortlisted for the notable categories of ‘Co-Production for Parent Carers’ and ‘Health and Education Partnership’. Gareth Robinson, Executive Director of Delivery and Transformation for NHS Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin, said: “We are delighted to announce that Parents Opening Doors (PODS), the parent carer organisation for Telford, and the Telford and Wrekin Educational Psychology Service, with support from NHS Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin, were honoured with first place in the parent carer co-production category for their ‘Challenges at Home’ project, which supports families on a group and individual basis while their children are waiting for an assessment for neurodiversity" PODS Minecraft Club Tuesday 7th May 2024 from 4pm-5pm at PODS Hub, 1 Hawksworth Road, Central Park, Telford, TF2 9TU A chance to come together and enjoy a session of Minecraft. Please note Minecraft will be accessed via PODS iPads which are linked to one another to allow multiplayer options. PODS Stop Motion Video Club Monday 13th May 2024 at PODS Hub, 1 Hawksworth Road, Central Park, Telford, TF2 9TU PODS Stop Motion Video Club resumes from Jan 2024. The children/young people will be provided with Lego and Ipads to help make the stop motion videos. Cost is £3 per child/young person. Please contact Uma at uma@podstelford.org for any details. PODS Social Support Group - Cake Decoration Workshop Thursday 16th May 2024 from 10am-12pm at PODS Hub, 1 Hawksworth Road, Central Park, Telford, TF2 9TU Join us for a Cake Decoration Workshop in the PODS Hub. Ask us for some advice or just enjoy a walk around the village. Tickets are available at a subsidised cost of £3 per person. PODS will provide 1 tea/coffee/soft drink to each person booked, however you will have to purchase your own other refreshments if required. Places are limited and booking is essential, open to all PODS members living in Telford and Wrekin. Please note that the tickets are non-refundable. Children, of any age, are welcome however if they are under 2 years old, no ticket is required.
