PODS Family Social Support Group at Jungleland

Friday 3rd May 2024 from 6.30pm to 8.30pm at Jungleland, Telford, TF1 6SZ

PODS has organised an Exclusive Session at Jungleland for PODS families. Places are limited and booking is essential.

Please book the child/young people places only as the parent carers go free. Siblings are welcome but need to be booked. Please note the cafe at Jungleland will be open till 7.30 pm on the day.

PODS Volunteer Drop In

Tuesday 12th March 2024 from 10am-11.30am at PODS Hub, 1 Hawksworth Road, Central Park, Telford, TF2 9TU

Join us for a casual yet enlightening drop in session where you can discover what exciting opportunities we have in store here at PODS, whether you are an existing volunteer or would like to join up, there is something for everyone.

There will be a sign up form to fill in on the day if you decide you would like to join our volunteering team. Your presence and ideas could be the spark that ignites a brighter future for the PODS comminity.

Please bear in mind there are long term road works, with diversions on Holyhead Road.

Challenges at Home - Support Offer For Families Awaiting Assessment

"Challenges at home" sessions for families who have a child or young person who is on NeuroDiversity (Autism, ADHD, etc) assessment pathway or undergoing diagnosis.

Open to 0-18 years from mainstream and special schools

For families to discuss home/life concerns and seek information and advice from Educational Psychologist team around emotional, behaviour, social, anxieties, routines, etc.

We use these sessions to support families to find solutions together and share experiences and offer mutual support in a safe and supportive place.

If you are attending with another family member, you only need to book one place.

PODS Social Support Group at Blists Hill

Thursday 14th March from 10am-12pm at Blists Hill Victorian Town, Telford, TF7 5UD

Come and join us at PODS Family Group in Blists Hill Victorian Town for a chat, relax and meet with friendly faces. Ask us for some advice or just enjoy a walk around the village. Tickets are available at a subsidised cost of £3.00 per person. PODS will provide 1 tea/coffee/soft drink to each person booked, however you will have to purchase your own other refreshments if required.  

Places are limited and booking is essential, open to all PODS members living in Telford and Wrekin. Please note that the tickets are non-refundable. Children, of any age, are welcome however if they are under 2 years old, no ticket is required. We will be meeting at the entrance at 10am, please let us know if you will be late or can no longer make it so as the group can enter on time.

PODS Stop Motion Video Club

Monday's from 4pm-5pm at PODS Hub, 1 Hawksworth Road, Central Park, Telford, TF2 9TU

PODS Stop Motion Video Club resumes from Jan 2024. The children/young people will be provided with Lego and Ipads to help make the stop motion videos. Cost is £3 per child/young person.

PODS Minecraft Club

Tuesday's from 4pm-5pm at PODS Hub, 1 Hawksworth Road, Central Park, Telford, TF2 9TU

A chance to come together and enjoy a session of Minecraft. Please note Minecraft will be accessed via PODS iPads which are linked to one another to allow multiplayer options. Children will not be able to access their own Minecraft accounts for safety reasons. Sessions open to children and young people of all ages who are members of PODS including their siblings.

Drinks and biscuits provided. Session costs are non-refundable, parent/carer/PA must remain on site for the duration of the session. Please ensure every Child/young person attending has a ticket, those attending without a ticket will be turned away. Adult tickets are NOT required.

PODS Spring 2024 Newsletter 

We are delighted to announce that this years Newsletter is now available, please click below to access our digital copy. Unlike in previous years where we have sent out a paper copy to every member, we have had to make the difficult decision to change things this year due to rising costs and number of families we support.

The good news is though, if you would like a paper copy these can be collected from our Hub and any sessions you attend, or alternatively we can post one out to you free of charge, please contact kerrie@podstelford.org to arrange this.

Cancer Champions

Spotting cancer early saves lives. That's where Cancer Champions come in. These volunteers empower and encourage people in their community to take up cancer screening, building the role into their everyday life, whether at home, with friends, or at work. No previous experience is necessary to become a Champion, just a willingness to spread the word.

The next Cancer Champion training session in Telford will be on Wednesday 20 March 9.30am to 12.30pm at Admaston House Community Centre, Wellington Road TF5 0BN.
