Invitation To Meet Senior Leaders, Councillors and Directors
WE ARE DELIGHTED TO LET YOU KNOW THAT WE HAVE ARRANGED A SPECIFIC SEND APPOINTMENT OPPORTUNITY WITH LEADER/COUNCILLORS/DIRECTORS OF TELFORD & WREKIN COUNCIL.
They will be there to listen to parents and carers, to get their views on SEND provisions in Telford and Wrekin.
The session takes place on Thursday 15 February from 5pm to 7pm at PODS Hub (private rooms/spaces)
To ensure this opportunity is shared with as many families as possible, we ask that you please book one appointment with one of the following attendees. We have been assured that responses will be given as a collective from Telford & Wrekin Council

PODS Stop Motion Video Club
Monday 5th February from 4pm-5pm at PODS Hub, 1 Hawksworth Road, Central Park, Telford, TF2 9TU
PODS Stop Motion Video Club resumes from Jan 2024. The children/young people will be provided with Lego and Ipads to help make the stop motion videos. Cost is: £3 per child/young person.

PODS Minecraft Club
Tuesday 6th February from 4pm-5pm at PODS Hub, 1 Hawksworth Road, Central Park, Telford, TF2 9TU
A chance to come together and enjoy a session of Minecraft. Please note Minecraft will be accessed via PODS iPads which are linked to one another to allow multiplayer options. Children will not be able to access their own Minecraft accounts for safety reasons. Sessions open to children and young people of all ages who are members of PODS including their siblings.
Drinks and biscuits provided. Session costs are non-refundable, parent/carer/PA must remain on site for the duration of the session. Please ensure every Child/young person attending has a ticket, those attending without a ticket will be turned away. Adult tickets are NOT required.

PODS Lego Club
Wednesday 7th February from 4pm-5pm at PODS Hub, 1 Hawksworth Road, Central Park, Telford, TF2 9TU
PODS Lego Club is running sessions for children from 5-14 years old during Term Time. The children will be building as well as be able to improve their to social and communication skills.
Session costs are non-refundable, parent/carer/PA must remain on site for the duration of the session. Please ensure every child/young person attending has a ticket.

PODS Forum and Befriending Scheme Social Support Group
Wednesday 21st February 2024 from 10am-11.30am at PODS Hub, 1 Hawksworth Road, Central Park, Telford, TF2 9TU
Do you fancy a cuppa and a natter in a friendly, non-judgemental environment? Join us at our PODS Forum and Befriending Scheme Family Group.
For a chance to have a catch up, find out more about the Befriending Scheme and access non-judgemental befriending peer support with fellow parent carers. Places must be pre-booked. We look forward to seeing you there.

PODS Social Support Group at Blists Hill
Wednesday 28th February 2024 from 10am-12pm at Blists Hill Victorian Town, Telford, TF7 5UD
Come and join us at PODS Family Group in Blists Hill Victorian Town for a chat, relax and meet with friendly faces. Ask us for some advice or just enjoy a walk around the village. Tickets are available at a subsidised cost of £3 per person. PODS will provide 1 tea/coffee/soft drink to each person booked, however you will have to purchase your own other refreshments if required.
Places are limited and booking is essential, open to all PODS members living in Telford and Wrekin. Please note that the tickets are non-refundable. Children, of any age, are welcome however if they are under 2 years old, no ticket is required. We will be meeting at the entrance at 10am, please let us know if you will be late or can no longer make it so as the group can enter on time.

PODS Online SIBS Workshop - Understanding the Needs and Experiences of Siblings
Monday 19th February 2024 from 10am-11.30am - Online
PODS is hosting an online workshop by SIBS for parents carers on Understanding the needs and experiences of siblings. The session is being run at two times to cater to maximum parents carers. The registered participants will be emailed the zoom link to join a few days before the workshop.
The workshop will cover:
- Insight into siblings needs
- Practical ideas for giving siblings attention
- Further sources of information

Supporting the Home Learning Environment Conference
Monday 11th March from 9.30am-3.30pm at Mercure Telford
Do you want to help your child’s speech, language, communication and literacy at home? Or do you work closely with children or in a school setting?
This event is suitable for:
- Parents and carers who play a key role in children’s learning
- Professionals working with early years children (0-5)
- Social workers
- Health professionals
- Health visitors and community nursery nurses
- Voluntary organisations which support families
- Schools
- Workers in early years settings
Guest speakers from national organisations (including Speech and Language UK and NSPCC) are attending and a buffet lunch will be provided.

Short Breaks Forum
Tuesday 6th February from 10am-12pm at PODS HUb, 1 Hawksworth Road, Central Park, Telford TF2 9TU
The Short Breaks Forum (activities, ican2, MyOptions, etc) is open to all families in Telford & Wrekin. Come along to find out what is going on, how to access, ask questions and find out more about the service.
Event is 'hosted' by PODS at their office hub in Central Park. Free Car Parking and Refreshments available.
