PODS Christmas Opening Hours

During the festive period there will be restricted availability from PODS staff between Friday 22nd December at 1pm through to Tuesday 2nd January at 9am. As our Staff and Volunteers take a well-earned rest with their families and disabled children.

PODS Hub will be closed during this time too, with the exception of pre booked groups and activities.

Reponses to emails and messages will be limited. We will have scheduled posts going out on social media, so please look out for them.

In an emergency, please use the numbers below. If you contact PODS, please be aware that it may not be picked up until the next working day.

Tourettes Action Telford Family Group

Thursday 4th January 2024 from 3pm-5pm at PODS Hub, 1 Hawksworth Road, Central Park, Telford, TF2 9TU

Tourettes Action Group welcomes all families who have a child or young person that may be affected by Tourettes (or tics) in Telford.  We welcome anyone to attend to find out more about this condition and to receive support and share experiences.  Our group leader is trained and supported the national 'Tourettes Action' organisation.

This session has been set up as a 'family based' group and there will be activities.

PODS Stop Motion Video Club

Monday 8th January 2024 - Monday 19th February 2024 from 4pm-5pm at PODS Hub, 1 Hawksworth Road, Central Park, Telford, TF2 9TU

Does your child/young person like to make videos? If yes then PODS is starting an after school Stop Motion Video Club to enable the children and young people make stop motion videos using Lego.

PODS Minecraft Club

Tuesday 9th January 2024 - Tuesday 6th February 2024 from 4pm-5pm at PODS Hub, 1 Hawksworth Road, Central Park, Telford, TF2 9TU 

A chance to come together and enjoy a session of Minecraft. Please note Minecraft will be accessed via PODS iPads which are linked to one another to allow multiplayer options. Children will not be able to access their own Minecraft accounts for safety reasons. Sessions open to children and young people of all ages who are members of PODS including their siblings.

Drinks and biscuits provided. Session costs are non-refundable, parent/carer/PA must remain on site for the duration of the session. Please ensure every Child/young person attending has a ticket, those attending without a ticket will be turned away. Adult tickets are NOT required.

PODS Lego Club

Wednesday 10th January 2024 - Wednesday 20th March 2024 from 4pm-5pm at PODS Hub, 1 Hawksworth Road, Central Park, Telford, TF2 9TU

PODS Lego Club is running sessions for children from 5-14 years old during Term Time. The children will be building as well as be able to improve their to social and communication skills. 

Session costs are non-refundable, parent/carer/PA must remain on site for the duration of the session. Please ensure every child/young person attending has a ticket.

BEAM Workshops for Parents and Professionals 2024

"Shropshire Beam are pleased to provide Virtual workshops for Parents & Professionals from January 2024 – February 2024. All virtual workshops will take around an hour.

All details are below, you need to click on link at the appropriate time of chosen workshop. All workshops will be done via MS Teams Video call, we are unable to record sessions. The workshops are derived to be informative and engaging sessions, please be willing to participate during the sessions. There are four Workshops which will be rolled out at 4pm to enable more people to attend"

Young Person Grant

Have you seen that the Leader and Cabinet Members’ Young Person Grant is back?

Over the last seven years, it’s seen 510 young people awarded a total of £109,742, which has made a huge difference to their lives. This grant of up to £500 is available for young people who live in Telford and Wrekin, a child in care or previous care leaver outside of the borough, who are seeking support to help get them into education, employment or training. It’s also available to young people looking for help to pursue extracurricular activities to support their learning and development.

If a young person you know or work with might wish to apply, visit www.telford.gov.uk/ypg to get advice, read about past recipients, and make an application.

PODS Present Exchange

The idea is: Those who are in need can take a present from under the tree and those who are able or wish to can place a gift under the tree at PODS Hub.

On the 20th December any remaining presents will be donated to PRH.
