PODS Christmas Tea Party

PLEASE NOTE: The tickets go live on Monday 20th November at 8pm

Thursday 14th December 2023 from 5pm-7pm at PODS Hub, 1 Hawksworth Road, Central Park, Telford, TF2 9TU

This event is aimed at families who are unable to access a traditional style Christmas party and need an option of something calmer and quieter. 

IMPORTANT - THE QUIET SANTA IS STRICTLY FOR THOSE THAT HAVE NOT BOOKED ONTO PODS FAMILY CHRISMAS PARTY 3rd DECEMBER 2023

PODS would like to invite you to a small Christmas Tea party. 

The tea party will consist of a finger food buffet, gentle background Christmas music, possibly a game or two and of course a Christmas present for all the children/young adults that are booked. Parent/carers must attend and a ticket is required for each person attending.

Tickets are £5 per child (cost includes a gift from Santa) and adult.

PODS Quiet Santa

Sunday 10th December 2023 from 11am-12.30pm (10 mins per family) at PODS Hub, 1 Hawksworth Road, Central Park, Telford, TF2 9TU

This event is aimed at families who are unable to access a traditional style Christmas party and need an option of something calmer and quieter.

PODS magical Santa’s grotto will have no flashing lights and no music, you can book your desired time slot for your family to see Santa to minimise any waiting time for your child and family. Each family will be given 10 minutes with Santa. Please arrive only 2 minutes before your allocated time slot.

Tickets are £3 per child (Cost includes a gift from Santa)

Each family to book only one time slot

Tuesday 21st November 2023 from 6pm-8pm at PODS Hub, 1 Hawksworth Road, Central Park, Telford, TF2 9TU

A chance to put the world to rights over cake and coffee! 

Join us at the MenSpace group. A group dedicated to male carers.

These groups are guided by you, you can talk about whatever you want, and give us all chance to help each other out. You will also be able to influence how these groups run in the future by feeding back what you want from the group and how we can achieve this.

PFA Open Room

Tuesday 21st November 2023 from 12pm-2pm at PODS Hub, 1 Hawksworth Road, Central Park, Telford, TF2 9TU

This group is aimed at those parents/carers of young people aged between 14 and 25 to have a chat and share experiences over tea, coffee, and biscuits.  

Loads of relevant information will be available during the group and I will be available to answer any questions or discuss specific difficulties.

PODS Social - Anime (12-25s)

Wednesday 22nd November 2023 6pm-7.30pm at PODS Hub, 1 Hawksworth Road, Central Park, Telford, TF2 9TU

PODS are hosting a Social Session for young people aged 12 years to 25 years and their siblings. All our Social Sessions have a very relaxed atmosphere but there is always a specific focus. This session is: ANIME.  

All the materials needed will be provided to all the young people booked. Young People are welcome to bring their own anime creations and/or references. 

Parents/carers to stay on the site during the session. All tickets are non-refundable.

PODS Stop Motion Video Club

Wednesday 29th November 2023 from 4pm-5pm at PODS Hub, 1 Hawksworth Road, Central Park, Telford, TF2 9TU

Does your child/young person like to make videos? If yes, then PODS is starting an after school Stop Motion Video Club to enable the children and young people make stop motion videos using Lego.

PODS Blists Hill Family Group

Thursday 30th November 2023 from 10am-12pm at Blists Hill Victorian Town, Telford, TF7 5UD

Come and join us at PODS Family Group in Blists Hill Victorian Town for a chat, relax and meet with friendly faces. Ask us for some advice or just enjoy a walk around the village.

Tickets are available at a subsidised cost of £3 per person. PODS will provide 1 tea/coffee/soft drink to each person booked, however you will have to purchase your own other refreshments if required.

Places are limited and booking is essential, open to all PODS members living in Telford and Wrekin. Please note that the tickets are non-refundable. Children, of any age, are welcome however if they are under 2 years old, no ticket is required.

We will be meeting at the entrance at 10am, please let us know if you will be late or can no longer make it so as the group can enter on time.

PODS Social Support Group - Christmas Cupcake Decorating

Tuesday 5th December 2023 from 10am-12pm at PODS Hub, 1 Hawksworth Road, Central Park, Telford, TF2 9TU

Join us at our friendly Family group, a chance to catch up on updates, discuss services and access non-judgemental peer support with fellow parent carers.

We will be decorating ​cupcakes for Christmas. All materials will be provided. Booking is essential and tickets are non-refundable. Any family members welcome to join us and we'll supply the refreshments and treats too (donations welcome).

Diabetes Awareness Month

November is Diabetes Awareness Month. Whilst type 1 diabetes cannot be prevented, type 2 diabetes is largely preventable through lifestyle changes. Around nine out of 10 people with diabetes have type 2 and there are currently two million people in England at high risk of developing type 2 diabetes, which is a leading cause of preventable sight loss in people of working age and is a major contributor to kidney failure, heart attack, and stroke.

Preventing Type Two Diabetes - KNOW YOUR RISK TOOL - Every two minutes someone finds out that they have Type 2 diabetes, a potentially serious health condition that can cause long-term health problems. Lung Cancer Awareness Month November

November is Lung Cancer Awareness Month. This is important as Lung Cancer is the UK’s biggest cancer killer. It is the most common cause of death from cancer for both men and women, claiming almost 35,000 lives a year.

Early detection of lung cancer makes it more treatable, so encouraging people to recognise symptoms such as a persistent cough and see their doctor sooner could save lives. Find out about signs and symptoms here
