PODS Buddy Scheme

A PODS Buddy offers support to parent carers that may find it difficult to make that first step to attend a family group.

Our friendly PODS Buddy would meet you at the door, walk in with you, and stay with you at the family group, to make sure you are comfortable and not alone.

All our Buddies are parent carers, and have all had to make that first step, so they know how you’re feeling and are there to support you.

For more information or to enquire about having a PODS Buddy, please contact kerrie@podstelford.org or call: 07309 753044.

Para Archery 'Finals' Day Events

Sharing from Archery GB...

"The Archery GB Para archery squad are preparing hard for the upcoming Para World Championships in the Czech Republic later in July, by hosting a preparation camp 3-6 July.

On Tuesday 4 July, where they will be hosting a ‘finals field’ day, with finals events will be taking place between 09.30-12.30 and again from 14.00-17.30.  Archery GB would welcome as many spectators as possible, so invite you to consider attending the outdoor archery field, during any part of these event times.

The archery field where the events are taking place is near the hockey pitches at Lilleshall National Sports Centre (TF10 9AT).  There will be toilets available in the pavilion on the field.  Buses/ minibuses or leaders with community groups/schools will be able to drop off/park adjacent to the archery field, and there will also be parking for Blue badge holders available.  Other cars attending are encouraged to park in the main visitor car park by Wenlock Hall, and walk up to the Queen’s bar, then turn left and walk along the footpath down to the playing fields/ hockey pitch area.

The day is designed to try and replicate a finals field as much as possible, and this would include spectators - so the more the merrier and plenty of cheering!  It’s a great opportunity to increase awareness of archery and learn more about the sport, showcase the possibilities in sport for disabled people, and support the athletes in their preparations.

We appreciate this is very last minute notice, so just feel free to turn up on the day if you can.  If larger groups wish to attend it would be great to know in advance: roughly how many people, and if we need to make any other arrangements.  Therefore, for large groups, please reply as soon as possible and before 5pm tomorrow (Friday 30 June), confirming roughly what time the group will come.   We would love to welcome as many people as possible."
