PODS Happy Healthy & Active Holiday Scheme

PODS are delighted to be running another SEN holiday scheme over the Summer period. We have made a further alterations to the program based on feedback, we will be offering sessions of varying lengths and differing themes, so hopefully something for everyone. 

Please carefully read the details and costs for each session before making your selection as they differ for each one. 

As before all children/young people aged 0-25 with an additional need and/or a disability are welcome, including their siblings. All children/young adults will be provided with lunch and refreshments to either eat during the sessions or takeaway, we will also be trialling picnic lunches for parents for a small cost at some sessions. There will be plenty of staff on hand to support and assist families, but please note parents/carers must remain onsite at all times. Each family will only initially be allocated one date, to allow as many families as possible to access the scheme.

Please request your session by following the link below, booking closes midday Monday 26th June, you will be notified of your allocation by 3rd July, payments for the sessions will be due no later than 10th July, failure to pay will result in the cancellation of the session, if you have any payment difficulties please contact us in the strictest of confidence as we can help. Fish & Chip Bingo incorporating PODS AGM

Come along to our Fish & Chip Bingo incorporating our AGM, find out what PODs have been up to over the past year and what the future holds. Your chance to have a chat and ask us questions about the things that matter to you.

Enjoy a game or two of Bingo, followed by either Fish & Chips or Sausage and Chips.

The evening is open to all PODS members, their children, Stakeholders and other interested parties.

PODS MenSpace

Wednesday 21st June from 1pm-2pm at PODS Hub, 1 Hawksworth Road, Central Park, Telford, TF2 9TU

A chance to put the world to rights over cake and coffee! 

Join us at the MenSpace group. A group dedicated to male carers.

These groups are guided by you, you can talk about whatever you want, and give us all chance to help each other out. You will also be able to influence how these groups run in the future by feeding back what you want from the group and how we can achieve this.

PODS June Activity Sessions

PODS Forum Family Group at Admaston House

Monday 3rd July from 10am-12pm at Admaston House Community Centre, Telford, TF5 0BN

Join us at our friendly family group, a chance to catch up on updates, discuss services and access non-judgemental befriending peer support with fellow parent carers.

Any family members welcome to join us and we'll supply the refreshments and treats too (donations welcome). The ​spaces need to be booked for every person attending.

PODS Code Club

PODS Code Club is running sessions for children from 7-13 years old during Term Time. The children will be learning to code in SCRATCH. Along with learning how to code, the children will also be building upon their skills like problem solving, collaboration and communication. 

Session costs are non-refundable, parent/carer/PA must remain on site for the duration of the session. Please ensure every child/young person attending has a ticket, those attending without a ticket will be turned away. Adult tickets are NOT required.

PODS Lego Club

Wednesday 28th June from 4pm-5pm at PODS Hub, 1 Hawksworth Road, Central Park, Telford, TF2 9TU

PODS Lego Club is running sessions for children from 5-14 years old during Term Time. The children will be building as well as be able to improve their  to social and communication skills. 

Session costs are non-refundable, parent/carer/PA must remain on site for the duration of the session. Please ensure every child/young person attending has a ticket.

PODS Blists Hill Family Group

Friday 23rd June 2023 from 10am-12pm at Blists Hill Victorian Town, Telford, TF7 5UD

Come and join us  at PODS Family Group in Blists Hill Victorian Town for a chat, relax and meet with friendly faces. Ask us for some advice or just enjoy a walk around the village. Please note a facemask is required in some parts of the village. Tickets are available at a subsidised cost of £3.00 per person. PODS will provide 1 tea/coffee/soft drink to each person booked, however you will have to purchase your own other refreshments if required.

Places are limited and booking is essential, open to all PODS members living in Telford and Wrekin. Please note that the tickets are non-refundable. Children, of any age, are welcome however if they are under 2 years old, no ticket is required. We will be meeting at the entrance at 10am, please let us know if you will be late or can no longer make it so as the group can enter on time.

PODS Open Day

Come and join us for our 1st open day. A great opportunity to meet the team and discover our new sensory room, whilst your here find out more about the fantastic services and upcoming activities we have on offer.

There will be other partner organisations ready to meet you and discuss how they can help, such as Foden's Solicitors, the Autism Hub, IASS and Be Happy Support.

Community Listening Workshops- Shropshire Wildlife Trust

Across Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin communities are united around localities, interests, experiences and diversity. Shropshire Wildlife Trust want everyone across our county to be able to connect with nature and feel able to take action to protect the natural environment around us.

To do this they are committed to listening to the communities they serve. That’s why they want to support people across the county to be proactive listeners, sharing skills to allow us all to better understand the people we connect with.

The Community Listening Workshop will:

1. Explore why listening is important and why they want to listen to the Shropshire communities.
2. Discover positive listening techniques.
3. Practice listening skills and take these away to use in your own communities.
4. Understand the Community Listeners Network, with the option to stay involved and collaborate with others.
