Rocksteady are visitng Telford to give local children the opportunity to learn how to play an instrument. Your child can choose from the guitar, keyboard, drums or vocals and enjoy playing in a HAPPY, SUPPORTIVE environment with friends.

All Rocksteady Leaders are carefully chosen, extensively trained MUSICIANS who know how to inspire a LIFE-LONG LOVE OF PLAYING MUSIC.

Happy Healthy Active Holidays: Easter Activities

"The Happy Healthy Active Holidays (HHAH) scheme will be running through the Easter holidays (Saturday 1 April to Sunday 16 April 2023) with multiple holiday clubs running in the first and second week of Easter. Holiday activities will be available for children and young people who are receiving income-based free school meals (FSM).

There will be a range of activities on offer at Holiday clubs for children in reception to Year 11. Every day a child attends they will be provided with a nutritious meal and at least 4 hours of enrichment activities, including 60 minutes of physical activity, arts, crafts and nature walks. In order to access the scheme parents and carers of children who are eligible must register on the HHAH website. Video tutorials on how to register, manage and cancel bookings are all available on the website."

Come and join us in celebrating the King Charles III Coronation with a traditional afternoon tea and appropriate light entertainment. PODS would like to welcome you all, regardless of whether you are a member or not, to celebrate the King's Coronation with us. On Monday 8th of May, we are hosting a fun-filled afternoon tea party, with a variety of entertainment including live music, magician, crafts and free access to Enginuity. To add to the fun and theme of the day, children and adults are welcome to dress as a King, Queen, Prince, Princess or Knight although not obligatory.

Booking essential. All dietary requirements can be catered for by prior arrangement only, please complete the appropriate questions when purchasing your tickets.

World Health Day - 7th April

Celebrating 75 years of improving public health. 7th April 2023 marks World Health Day and the World Health Organization will observe its 75th anniversary. In 1948, countries of the world came together and founded WHO to promote health, keep the world safe and serve the vulnerable – so everyone, everywhere can attain the highest level of health and well-being.

WHO’s 75th anniversary year is an opportunity to look back at public health successes that have improved quality of life during the last seven decades. It is also an opportunity to motivate action to tackle the health challenges of today ̶and tomorrow. See more at World Health Organization

LingenDavies Cancer Champions

Multi-language approach to fight cancer. A series of multi-language videos have been created to raise awareness about the importance of cancer screening – and improve uptake in the area. The videos have been produced in Mandarin, Punjabi, Ukranian, Bulgarian and Polish and are available to view and download on the newly created Cancer Champions website. They focus on breast, bowel and cervical cancer, as well as a general video to highlight signs and symptoms of cancer.

The videos are available to download for organisations and GP practices to use in their own facilities, thereby further spreading awareness about the importance of cancer screening invitations – with reference to bowel, cervical and breast cancers. They are available on the website
