Research Project: Exploring the Sensory Needs of Children with Autism using AAC

Sharing extract from Rebecca Courtney a final year Speech and Language Therapy student...

"I am a final year Speech and Language Therapy student completing my dissertation on the topic of sensory needs in children with Autism using AAC (communication aids). This information will help us to understand what communication aid attributes can accommodate the sensory challenges and needs of children with Autism.

We would like to interview a small number of forum users (between 3-5) who, are parents/ carers of children with aided AAC systems that have been using the system for at least a year. The children will not be participants but we are looking for parents of children who, are of school age 4-18. Have an official diagnosis of Autism, have sensory hypersensitivity needs."

If you would like to take part in the research project, please email Rebecca at: 20022931@stu.mmu.ac.uk.
