PODS Mini Carers Pamper Days

We are holding 2 Mini Carers Pamper Days in June, the first will be held on Monday 6th June 2022 from 10am-1pm at Admaston House Community Centre, and the second on Wednesday 8th June 2022 from 10am-1pm at PODS Office.

Join us for our Mini Pamper Days in June to celebrate the Carer's Week. 

We will have all the required items to pamper yourself to help you rejuvenate with a facial or painting your nails and you can have the regular catchup too. We will also have a selection of refreshments available along with tea and coffee. The spaces for this event are limited and booking is essential.

PODS Blists Hill Family Group

Thursday 26th May 2022 from 10am at Blists Hill Victorian Town, Telford, TF7 5UD

Come and join us  at PODS Family Group in Blists Hill Victorian Town for a chat, relax and meet with friendly faces. Ask us for some advice or just enjoy a walk around the village. Please note a facemask is required in some parts of the village. Tickets are available at a subsidised cost of £2.50 per person. PODS will provide 1 tea/coffee/soft drink to each person booked, however you will have to purchase your own other refreshments if required.

Places are limited and booking is essential, open to all PODS members living in Telford and Wrekin. Please note that the tickets are non-refundable. Children, of any age, are welcome however if they are under 2 years old, no ticket is required. We will be meeting at the entrance at 10am, please let us know if you will be late or can no longer make it so as the group can enter on time.

PODS Befriending Scheme Family Group

Thursday 19th May 2022 from 10am-11.15am at Leegomery Community Centre, Leegate Avenue, Leegomery, Telford, TF1 6NA

Are you feeling isolated, lonely or just need someone to talk too? Why not join us for a cuppa and a natter in a friendly, non-judgemental environment?

We would love to see you at our PODS Befriending Scheme Family Group, at Leegomery Community Centre, for a chance to have a catch up, find out more about the Befriending Scheme and access non-judgemental befriending peer support with fellow parent carers.

Caring for an anxious child can be extremely difficult for a parent. Their guide describes common signs of anxiety and gives you information on how to spot signs of anxiety in children with intellectual disability.

SEND Review

We're going to be running a series of local workshops in June as part of our 'participation and involvement' offer. This information might be useful to have a look at in the meantime.

  • A full British Sign Language version to support those who are deaf or have a hearing impairment
  • An easy-read version to support those with learning disabilities.
  • A guide to help children and young people with SEND or those in alternative provision to understand the green paper and respond to the consultation.
