Wrexham FC to install state of the art viewing platform for wheelchair users

Wrexham FC Disabled Supporters Association has announced that they are working in partnership with the club and Glyndwr University to deliver a state of the art viewing platform for wheelchair users at the Racecourse Ground.

Tranmere Rovers fans to attempt world record 5-a-side football match in memory of DSA Chairman Lee Knight

A group of Tranmere Rovers fans are set to attempt the longest recorded 5-a-side football match in memory of DSA Chairman Lee Knight, with the proceeds going towards improving access and inclusion for disabled fans at Prenton Park. The club has also been recognised for their good work improving disabled access in the House of Lords.

House of Lords debate - Accessible Sports Grounds Bill

On Friday 17th July the House of Lords debated the second reading of the Accessible Sports Grounds Bill. The Government confirmed that Accessible Stadia applies to both new and existing stadiums and that the Equality Act currently provides sufficient legislation for a legal challenge to be taken against a football club. The Bill, put forward by Lord Faulkner of Worcester, is seeking government regulation for disabled fans provisions at sports stadia.

Disability Access Officers to be made mandatory under new UEFA licensing regulations

UEFA has announced that as of the 2015/16 season football clubs must appoint a Disability Access Officer (DAO) to assist in improving stadium facilities and access for disabled supporters.
