CAFE appoints Malik Badsi and Dave Moussy as local Project Coordinators in France

To support the UEFA Respect Access for All project around UEFA EURO 2016, CAFE has appointed Malik Badsi and Dave Moussy as our Project Coordinators in France.

CAFE Managing Director, Joyce Cook OBE, said "It made a lot of sense to appoint Malik and Dave to this role. We have worked with them both for many years and they share our vision of proper access for all football fans. As UEFA EURO 2016 get ever nearer our works in France are now intensifying".

Malik and Dave have been long-term supporters of CAFE's works, and both attended the 2011 CAFE European Conference - 'Total Football, Total Access, Total Sense' at Wembley Stadium. We are delighted to have both Malik and Dave on board for the project.

To find out more about Malik, Dave and the rest of the CAFE team, visit the Meet the Team page of the CAFE website.

UEFA Respect Access for All social project at UEFA EURO 2016

The football social responsibility programme for UEFA EURO 2016 will be divided into four key areas:
Health (no-smoking campaign), Accessibility (accommodating disabled fans), Anti-discrimination and Fan services.

In practical terms, this means making UEFA EURO 2016 a non-smoking event, accessible for disabled fans and inclusive, welcoming fans from all backgrounds as a force for integration without any form of discrimination.

UEFA EURO 2016 - Total Football, Total Access

In close cooperation with the Centre for Access to Football in Europe (CAFE), UEFA aims to make the UEFA EURO 2016 stadiums fully accessible and therefore inclusive.

In line with 'Access for All', the UEFA and CAFE Good Practice Guide to Creating Accessible Stadiums, the objective is to welcome and allow people with different access requirements a full and inclusive match experience.

UK Government Seeking the Views of Disabled Sports Fans

Disabled sports fans living in the UK are being asked by the Government to take part in the largest ever survey of their experiences as spectators.

The survey will close on 28 February 2015, so please make sure you share your UK match day experiences before that date!

CAFE welcomes this announcement with the UK Government commissioning the largest ever survey of disabled sports fans’ experiences across the UK.  This a great opportunity for disabled people to have their say, including those that are regular match going fans and those that can still only aspire to attend matches at their favourite club or venue.

Visit the CAFE website for more information for those of you living in the UK and to take part in the survey.

Interview with CAFE Managing Director at International Stadium and Venue Expo

Last month, Managing Director Joyce Cook OBE presented at the International Stadium and Venue Expo in Geneva. Joyce's presentation was entitled 'Providing Accessibility and Experiences for All' and she introduced the gathered audience to CAFE’s work and the long-term benefits of inclusive stadium design.

Following her presentation, Joyce was interviewed by the organisers of the event. "Peole believe that youcan't do anything about this because you have an old stadium... that's simply not true and we've got lots of examples that disprove that fact immediately".

The Expo was a part of the wider Geneva International Sports Convention, with 18 conferences taking place across two days bringing some of sport’s most influential people and organisations together.

To find out more about Joyce's presentation and to watch the video of her interview, visit the CAFE website.
