Information for disabled supporters attending the UEFA Champions League Final 2013

UEFA Champions League Final 2013UEFA has published information and guidance for disabled supporters attending the UEFA Champions League Final.

The Final will take place on 25th May 2013 and will be contested by Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich. This will be the second time that Wembley Stadium has hosted the UEFA Champions League Final, the first being in 2011.

CAFE is delighted to see such a large uptake of tickets from disabled fans of both clubs, who will be there in large numbers supporting their teams alongside their fellow fans.

To view the information for disabled supporters, please click here (PDF). A German-language version has also been made available, and you can view this by clicking here.

We are also pleased to confirm that an Audio Descriptive Commentary service will be available for partially sighted and blind fans attending the game. This dedicated commentary service will be available in both German and English languages, and supporters will be advised of the language channel they require when collecting their headsets at the stadium.

If you require any further information, please contact us via email at info@cafefootball.eu, call +44 (0)1244 893 586 or Skype cafe-football.

CAFE attends 'The Football We Love' event

CAFE exhibition standMembers of the CAFE team recently travelled to Brussels, Belgium, to attend the 'The Football We Love' event, organised by Sport & Citizenship.

The event brought people from right across the sport together to share ideas and good practices. CAFE was one of a large number of exhibitors at the event, and we were able to share information about the work that we do in promoting 'Total Football, Total Access' across Europe.

CAFE Managing Director Joyce Cook also sat on a roundtable discussion on how football can be used efficiently as a tool to improve integration and social equality. Joyce discussed how inaccessible facilities can prevent disabled supporters from attending football matches, and why it was so crucial to address this issue.

Could you be a CAFE roving reporter?

Do you regularly attend football matches either as or with a disabled supporter?

We are looking to add to our group of roving reporters, publishing your accounts of attending football matches across Europe. It isn't a huge commitment, and your reports could prove to be really helpful for other disabled supporters who will be attending those stadiums in the future.

If you would like more information about becoming a CAFE roving reporter, please feel free to email us at info@cafefootball.eu.

We also continue to ask for your stadium comments, which can be uploaded via the CAFE Stadia Reports website. Adding a comment is really easy to do, just select the country and club or stadium from the menus, and you can also attach any photographs that you have taken. If a stadium currently doesn't have a page set up, please email us at info@cafefootball.eu.

Club CAFE Network continues to grow

Since the conference, the network has expanded considerably. People from all across Europe have added their voice to our cause. The more people speak up, the more our voices are heard.
