'Total Football - Total Access'

CAFE is supported by the UEFA and is working closely with its 53 associations to improve access in European football stadia.

European Disability Charity to stage inaugural

conference at the Poland National Stadium

The brand new National Football Stadium in Warsaw, Poland, will play host to the first ever conference held by the Centre for Access to Football in Europe (CAFE) on 24th and 25th September 2011.

The conference, ‘Total Access, Total Football’, will see football dignitaries, stadium managers, architects, club representatives and disabled fans meet to discuss making European Football accessible to all.

CAFE’s primary aim is to promote and deliver inclusive football stadiums across Europe and to ensure that everyone including those who face physical, sensory and intellectual barriers can access the game. The conference will provide an excellent opportunity to discuss inclusive stadium design along with solutions for improving existing facilities and services.

Confirmed speakers at the event include David Bernstein (Chairman of CAFE), Ben Veenbrink (UEFA Stadium Construction and Management Panel) and Rafal Kapler (Chairman of the National Stadium Warsaw) along with representatives from UEFA and Disabled Supporters Groups.

Joyce Cook, Managing Director of CAFE said:

“We are thrilled to announce the details of CAFE’s inaugural conference and the calibre of our confirmed speakers shows the level of expertise our attending delegates can expect to hear. The new National Stadium is a world class accessible and inclusive venue and will provide the perfect setting for the conference.”

CAFE is also working with EURO 2012 and the Local Organising committees in Poland and the Ukraine to help ensure a more accessible experience for local and visiting disabled fans and tourists during the tournament.

Attendance to ‘Total Access, Total Football’ is free of charge, and there are a limited number of travel and accommodation grants available. For further information and to register please contact conference@cafefootball.eu or +44 (0)20 3287 1619

Editor Notes

CAFE (Centre for Access to Football in Europe) was created via UEFA's Monaco Charity Award in 2009.

CAFE has been created to promote and ensure equal access across UEFA's region. CAFE is providing support, guidance and advice to all of our partners and stakeholders.

Stakeholders include the EC (through CEN), UEFA as the governing body, national Football Associations and their leagues and member clubs, EURO partners, disabled supporters, their advocates, carers and personal assistants, disabled supporter groups, other national and European diversity and supporter networks, disability Non Governmental Organisations (NGOs) and other interested organizations.

CAFE's aims are inclusivity and equality of experience, and because football embraces diversity in all its forms, CAFE is working with the football family to raise disability awareness more widely throughout Europe. Part of our mission is to empower disabled people to exercise their rights
