The International Day of Disabled People.

The 3 December 1982, the UN General Assembly decided on the World Programme of Action for Disabled People. The United Nations committed itself and its members to promote the full participation of disabled people in social life and development as well as prevention and rehabilitation measures.

Many of the problems then still exist now. Disabled people are not yet fully considered within international development issues. They are still excluded from society in many countries of the world. Even where effective disability legislation is in place, the implementation lacks ideas and is hindered by negative attitudes towards disabled people.

This year's theme is: "Keeping the promise: Mainstreaming disability in the Millennium Development Goals towards 2015 and beyond". You can read more about this day by following this link

Celebrating the International Day of Disabled People.

Map of Europe in blueAs a part of our own celebration of the International Day of Disabled People we are pleased to launch a new section of the CAFE website - European Stadium Reports.

This new section is designed to be a living guide of Stadium Reports with useful access information especially for disabled fans and their family and friends who are planning to attend European Football Stadia. We want this CAFE Stadium Reports section to be a helpful and honest monitoring tool for disabled supporters who travel to football matches around Europe.

To ensure that this guide is truly 'living' or 'organic' we have included a feedback section for you to share your own personal experiences, examples of good practice and not so good practice. We want to hear your opinions and to help you do this, you can also upload your own photographs and information documents along with your comments. To see the new CAFE Stadium Reports section please click here.

To view some of the uploaded Stadia Reports, please use following links:
