The CCG is actively seeking the views of the wider public in addition to people who currently receive prescriptions for gluten free foods. This is because the decisions that the CCG must make about how to spend its budget has implications for all residents of Telford and Wrekin. The period of engagement around gluten-free food prescribing starts today and will continue until 25th May 2018. Morning everyone...Just a quick update today as prepping for the CAMHS Stakeholder meeting later this morning! Last Monday I was invited to a workshop ran by Steve Broach (Barrister Monckton Chambers) alongside 2 of our parent reps. This knowledge will help us to understand the law when it comes to matters including social care and education and also looking at continuing health care criteria. I'll be writing some notes up about it when I get an hour or two spare... Tuesday and Wednesday I was co-training on the Face 2 Face Scheme and then onto meeting with Trustees on Wednesday evening. On Thursday we met with parent reps and fundraising team to discuss our events for the year and most importantly the Picnic in the Park (Admaston) on 6th August - get it in your diaries quick - lots of great stuff planned . . . We've met with Rachel from the EAST programme to talk about opportunities for young people with LD, Autism or Aspergers and support to get into the job market - whilst there's plenty of support out there and a specific funding from the Proof of Concept project, there is much work still to be done with Telford employers. With my other hat on as a governor I attended a governor workshop, whilst there met some SENCO's and shared PODS information - spreading the word and knowledge that disability doesn't just relate to just 'physical needs'! We had a family group in Dawley on Friday but missed out on cupcakes - will save these for next time I promise :) We've also completed reporting to the DfE for our Participation Grant and we've applied for the grant for next year which always results in a 'thank goodness that's done' sigh.... As well as the CAMHS meeting today, we have Pirates & Princesses family group tonight, more F2F training, parent support groups in schools, short breaks, a BIG Lottery workshop and another Mentoring Course session on Friday. Despite all this going on, it's increasingly important that we continue to share the wider parent carer voice - if you have anything to share, to tell me or ask me about - please do so - via inbox on facebook or via email to jayne@podstelford.org Thanks for reading and hoping everyone has a good week.
