Hello %FirstName%

Telford Pride @ 50 Fund & Information on PODS FORUM Picnic in the Park!

Telford Pride @ 50 Fund

Telford will be celebrating its 50th Birthday next year.  As part of the celebrations the Council has established the Telford Pride @ 50 Fund to support the delivery of projects or schemes that leave a lasting legacy within the Borough.  The aim is to recognise Telford’s history and to support the future social economic growth of the Borough.

At this stage they want to know what types of projects people would like to see introduced to commemorate Telford's 50th birthday.

You are invited to take part in the Telford Pride @ 50 Fund survey: www.telford.gov.uk/telfordpride50survey or it can be found by visiting www.telford50.co.uk

You can also sign up to a regular newsletter to be kept up to date.

The survey will close by Monday 18 September 2017 so please have your say and encourage others to take part.

If people are unable to complete the survey online they can complete a paper survey at the main libraries; Southwater, Wellington, Newport, Madeley or The Place @ Oakengates, and post their completed surveys in those buildings.

PACK UP YOUR PICNIC FOR PODS POPULAR “PICNIC IN THE PARK”!

PODS Parent Carer Forum is inviting families to a fun-filled day of activities at their annual Picnic in the Park, on Monday 7th August at Admaston House, Admaston from 10am to 3pm. Families who have a child or young person aged up to 25 years with a disability or additional need are welcome to attend. Parents, carers and siblings are welcome too.

Debbie Hart, trustee and fundraiser of PODS said “We are so pleased to be able to put on this summer holiday event again this year for our PODS families. We really appreciate the support of “Picnic in the Park” by Hager Group and the Rotary Club of Wellington. Their generous sponsorship has allowed us to hire a bouncy castle, bouncy dome, quad bikes and an inflatable photo booth to entertain the families.”

As well as the play equipment there will also be sensory and soft play areas and live music. Families are invited to bring their own picnic food and drinks to the event. There will also be cakes and chocolate to buy and a tombola stall to have a go on.

Val Taylor, PODS fundraiser said “We are excited to be trying out a new venue for Picnic in the Park this year. Admaston House is in a lovely village setting with its own safely enclosed outdoor area, which is important for many of our families. There is car parking on site and we will be using the adjoining park area for the quad bikes.”

Debbie added “We are also delighted to say that the newly appointed Telford & Wrekin Mayor, Cllr Stephen Reynolds will be joining us on the day. So come and along and meet our new mayor for 2017/18.”
