Upcoming Events over the Summer...

Cadbury World & Conkers

Hi PODS members

Thanks to our Big Lottery funding, we are excited to be able to offer our PODS families a choice of TWO free trips this summer:

  • Cadbury World in Bourneville, Birmingham on Sunday 30th July
  • Conkers in Ashby-de-la-Zouch on Saturday 16th September.

*** Please note the following:
1. These trips are open to children/young people with a disability/additional needs/SEN up to the age of 25, their parents/carers and siblings. Apologies, but we are unable to accommodate extended family members or friends.
2. Please read the information below carefully then book EITHER for Cadbury World OR Conkers (not both).
3. Coach seats are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
4. If you would prefer to make your own way there, please book whichever trip you would like to go on as below, but meet us at the entrance at the stated time.
5. On each trip there is space for one wheelchair on the coach so please let us know as soon as possible if you would like to book this.

Cadbury World

Cadbury World offers a fun-packed family day out, appealing to all ages. There are self-guided exhibition areas and different chocolatey zones including a 4D Chocolate adventure, Purple Planet interactive area, chocolate making demos, the Cadbury Story, Aztec jungle and outdoor play areas. There is also a shop and café, but you are also welcome to bring your own food and drinks.

The outline plan for the day is:

9.30am Board coach at Telford Central Railway station
10.30am Arrive Cadbury World
11.30am Enter main exhibition area (pre-booked tickets)  - There is lots to do if we have spare time e.g. play area, café, shop or other exhibits,
4pm Depart Cadbury World
5.10pm approx. Arrive back Telford Central Railway station.

4. Number of children (age 4 – 15) with additional needs (proof will be required at entrance e.g. DLA/medical letter.)

5. Number of children under 4

Conkers

Conkers offers 120 acres of adventure with indoor and outdoor play areas and over 100 interactive exhibits. There’s the Conker Choo II train, barefoot sensory walk, activity trails, woodland walks, adventure play and sky viewing tower – so something for all ages.
There is a café, but you are also welcome to bring your own food and drinks.

PODS Forum Woodworking Sessions - Monday 24th July 2017

This year we are holding 2 sessions of woodwork, they will be held at the Telford Town Park Visitors Centre. The morning session is 10am-12pm and the afternoon session is 1pm-3pm. Please only book onto one of the sessions as both sessions will be the same. There is a café on site if you wish to purchase food or drink, however there will be free refreshments at the event. You will need to book through Eventbrite, please remember to choose morning or afternoon:

PODS Forum Annual Picnic in the Park - Monday 7th August

This year the Mayor, Cllr Stephen Reynolds has kindly accepted our invitation to our Annual Picnic in the Park, we are inviting you and your family to join us too! Come and join us for fun and family activities from 10am – 3pm.

PODS Forum Fun & Floats Swimming Session - Saturday 26th August 2017

Our Fun and Floats Swimming session is being held at Wellington Civic and Leisure Centre, Wellington, TF1 1LX.

Sunday 16th July - Disability Gymnastics Taster event - Park Wrekin, Gymnastics Club, Telford.
Park Wrekin has just opened a brand new facility dedicated to gymnastics and is the perfect venue to make the club more inclusive. Please contact, Pete McCready 07738 121 102 for more information.
